Does Everything Matter? - Appreciate Life And It Will
Everything has worth Does everything matter? Or just the big things? Or just things affecting ourselves? If the world was full of people who did not care beyond their own circle in life - where would we all be? Happily many people are willing to give as well as take, to contribute as well as receive. To help another with no thought for payment or reward. And should not life be this way for much more of the time? We could all live happily and content that no one was out to get us, to put one over on us, to try to con us. Alas this view of the world and the people within it is not born out in practice. Many people are too absorbed in their own affairs to look out for others. Many are not selfish, they would say, but do little to justify this stance. But when all is said and done, where do we stand? On which side of this fence do we hold our head? If life is precious, and we would mostly agree that it was, why are certain elements of daily life more important than others? Sure love for family, friends is deemed high on the list, but care and thought for all our human 'colleagues', wherever they live and whatever they do - does that feel a good thing to do? Things do matter. But some things matter more than others. Our life and our progress through life and our experience of life - that should be at the top of each of our's agenda. To reach our potential and to live and grow throughout our lives - is that not our duty to life itself. Is that not the contract that we have undertaken by walking this earth? And it need not be an onerous one, but one filled with joy, satisfaction and contentment - if we only give and contribute as only we can. Does everything matter? Things may not matter of themselves, but we can all give them due importance and, with due diligence, live a good and wholesome life.
All best, Martin
