Fear Of Failure Or Success Need Not Hold You Back
False rules Fear of failure or success is like the battle of optimism vs pessimism. They are not winners. Fearing failure or success or wondering whether pessimism is realistic are both false trails. Excuse me, but we should know better. However, our self limiting beliefs come into play. Beliefs long held sway the day. We do not know which way to turn or what to believe or which direction to turn. False rules abound in life - our task is not to hunt them down and destroy them, but when we come across them to recognize them for what they are - and to move on with our lives. Excuse me but Are you a rebel without a cause? Do you just disagree period? Or do you disagree with something? Just being defiant for the sake of it or for no particular reason or cause? What does that make you? - An enthusiast or a nuisance?
- An irritant or a destroyer?
- A featherweight or an outsider?
- Realistic or irrational?
- An achiever or inefficient?
- An action (wo)man or ineffective?
Fear of failure or success These two things have affected adversely many a person or venture. How can that be? How can we be afraid of success? Fearing failure seems a natural thing, but success? How can that be? Perhaps we think it will change us. Perhaps we feel we would not be able to cope. It would open new horizons and then where would we be? How would we cope with the changes? The new scene, the expectations, the things we would have now to do - how could we cope with all of that? Perhaps better not to set the ball rolling in the first place. Stay at home and maintain the status quo. Keep things as they are. Keep within our comfort zone. Keep things comfortable. Take things nice and gentle. Self limiting beliefs Oh, not another of the false rules. Letting things take on substance and value beyond their sell by date or beyond their true value - that is what self limiting beliefs do or manage. They keep us trapped or encaged. They limit our horizons and our capabilities. We just do not think we can escape them. They have been part of our psyche for so long. How can we change them now? Optimism vs pessimism And then there is the confusion about being confident or lacking confidence - for that is what the question of optimism vs pessimism may be all about? Surely being optimistic must be better for you - who wants to look on the pessimistic side of things? Where will that get us? Do you not just like life or do you just get on with it? Or are you waiting for something to come along. So what is your play or your angle? Are you your own person or do you follow a crowd? In pursuit of happiness So what else can we do - to defeat these false rules. Chase happiness and enjoyment. Find contentment and satisfaction. Enjoy a quiet existence. Be energized and enjoy the high and exciting life. What to do? What is your plan? How will you tackle fear of failure or success? Maybe you will find out that you cannot just rebel for no good reason. Cry wolf too often and you will be ignored. But we need to live and not be afraid of ghosts. For then we will only live the life of a hologram. We need reality and to face up to our challenges and hurdles - and to claim our own and rightful place on this planet we call home. Let us all do that today. Take up this challenge - you need never regret that decision.
All best, Martin
