There Is No Manual - Find Your Own Way In Life

There is no handbook

There is no manual - something we soon realize as we enter adult life,if not before. No pamphlet or handbook by which or from which we can find out how we should be living our life.

To some that has met with excitement and bravado. They love the fact that their confidence and high self esteem allow them to push the envelope of life to the Max. For them nothing is impossible, and everything can be an adrenaline rush.

To others the fact there is no manual or handbook for life is a huge disappointment. And they start to write one for themselves. And they still get lost in the details and complexity of life and missed the point that life is an experience. That life is a wonderful thing and can be fun.

But for others who associate with their families and friends, they do not think too much for themselves and happily follow the ways of others. When new situations or circumstances arise they fall back upon the others to decide how they should proceed, and how they should live their life.

And then we come across explorers. Those people who love to try different things and see what happens. For them the excitement and satisfaction comes from the new experience, the new challenge. They're just happy to meet hurdles and obstacles and look to overcome them.

So where do we fit in the grand order of things? Which camp if any do we find ourselves in?

It strikes me as life is a learning and growing experience, and different for each one of us according to our needs. We each have different talents, skills and abilities, and tackle life in our own individual way.

The fact that there is no life handbook that we can purchase from Amazon or Waterstones is not a huge problem. However, we do like the idea that we learn and life goes by and can therefore by our own efforts, can take advantage of all that life has to offer.

We like the fact that life is a spontaneous experience and that we can make mistakes as well as have successes. We like the fact that we can be our own boss, in our own skin, in our own life.

We like the fact that we are responsible for our own thoughts, deeds and actions and that there will be repercussions following the things that we do or the direction our life takes.

Perhaps what we need to do is to find ourselves within, to enjoy the experience of being us, and to make a realistic contribution to life. To give and not to expect to take at every opportunity.

No manual or not, if we think of others, as well as ourselves, we can enjoy this life and make the most of our time here.

All best,
Martin
