Pace Yourself To Make The Most Of Your Energies And Strengths
Use your time well Pace yourself - you want to make the most of your life. A sprinter may win the 100 meters but the marathon cannot be won by going all out in the first few steps or strides. We have to get a feel for what is required. When to put real effort in and when we can coast, to save energy and resources, and to assess and evaluate the best way forward. And most things are made up of smaller things. A puzzle is made up of many pieces. Putting them together takes time and effort and foresight and vision. We may start with the edges and the corners to give ourselves foundations. Then filling in the middle can be fun. But with any puzzle the parts often look much the same. How do we decide which piece goes where? Feeling and intuition, how the piece is shaped (what it can do for us), and where it fits in the grand design (the larger picture - background and ultimate goal). Try to get some elevation. Then you'll be able to see things in perspective. And see which parts of the task will require greater effort than others. And you may have many such tasks, projects, responsibilities in life - to contend with all at once it may seem. Start to set some priorities and actions. Put things in order. What do I have to do before I can do X? If I did Y first would that hinder Z? And so on. At times we can get in the flow and effort seems 'effortless'. But even then we need to be aware that this will end and we will have to reassess where we are at and how things are going for us. Utilize both the effortless periods (to really move on) and the slow times (to assess and re-evaluate) to get things into perspective. Pace yourself and move on in life - and don't forget to have some fun and enjoyment along the way.
All best, Martin
