Take Advice Well - You Cannot Do Everything Yourself
How do you manage it? Do you take advice? Well or not? Are you hurt and offended by another person 'telling' you what to do. Do you wonder why you did not think of their offering yourself? Or you are genuinely grateful and thankful for their assistance and support. That they have gone out of their way to help you - and they may not even know you that well, too. Take advice. How do we respond? How should we? If another is trying to share, trying to help, being there for you - we can respond well with thanks and gratitude or be offish, wishing they would stop and leave us alone. And if we wish them to stop what does that say about us. That a nerve has been hit. We are injured in some way - probably psychological - and would rather retaliate than accept and be grateful for the help, support and assistance. They may have hit the nail on the head and we are reluctant or unwilling to acknowledge this - to ourselves or them. But life has this amazing - or is it really? - habit of throwing us a helping hand when we really need one. Whether we take hold, think about it or push it away - that is our prerogative. Life tends to throw us a rope or line a few times, then seems to move on - hoping we will move on with it. We need to mindful that we accept with good grace the help when it is there - for that may not always be the situation, and who would we have to blame then?
All best, Martin
